Well, after much deliberation and checking carb setups, linkage setups, multiple carbs Vs a single four barrel, I decided to take some mockup pics. Starting with the single 4bbl:

Making the turbo's work to allow them to face each other took some serious thinking last night, but when you look at it now it looks so simple. I needed to have both the exhaust outlets facing outwards, and doing this was the challenge. The compressor (intake) side is fully rotateable from the turbine (exhaust) side. But the exhaust inlet is not rotateable from the exhaust outlet. This way solves the problem and makes the plumbing so much simpler plus keeps it all on the passenger side of the engine, without draping over the engine and causing interference with the plugs and plug wires. An added benefit is that I'll be able to remove the head without removing the intake.

The Carter AFB is just used as a mockup for now. So far, nothing's set in stone, so I'm trying different mockups to see what will work best. I do like the idea of a single four barrel, as it saves a lot of tuning and synchronizing. For comparison, I also have this pic showing a Carter WCFB:

This weekend, after removing my Rochester 4GC and the steering from my parts Pat, I didn't realize until I got home Sunday night that I left the carb laying beside the parts Pat, otherwise I'd put a pic of it on here. See what happens when you get in a hurry!!

Congratulations Eric,
Certainly will simplify the plumbing required. And will look impressive to boot. Looking forward to seeing this aspect of the Speedster Project when fabrication is complete.

I think so, and the headers to mount the turbos will be rather interesting to look at, the front one will go down pointing up and the rear one will go up pointing down. Basically, they'll be mirror images of each other.

Eric, Look what I picked up from Harvey today! Haven't had the top off yet, but will do that tomorrow. All I'll have to do then is get the forks down to Canberra which I'll do in the next couple of weeks for Peter to weave his magic on them to fit the O/D Trans. As for the "cane", the O/D Trans I had years ago had the cane modified being bent down about a third of the way up to be nearly horizontal, and a third of the way from the top back to near vertical. Depending on the height and reach involved you may have to do something along those lines. And as for the knob end of the cane, this one doesn't have a knob either but it seems this is the way it was made.

I've heard that everyone has a guardian angel, and I'd have to say that you're mine Mal! (and my shifter is identical to yours, it has no threads on it.)
Funny that you show this, as today's work out in the garage entailed me removing said forks from my trans so I can bolt it down solidly to the trans and see where the shifter will need to clear for the dash work. I also got the '56 steering box mounted on the chassis, and it hooks right up to the '37 linkage using the '37 pitman arm. All this before 1pm.. Afterwards, I cleaned up the manifold side if the engine to get a template made of the intake/exhaust port and bolt arrangement. I went to a place here in Wichita called "The Yard" yesterday. If you ever need any type of steel or aluminum in any configuration, they've got it. I picked up a piece of 3/8" thick by 2.5" wide by 4' long steel to make the manifold flange for $6.75.
