Also look at the bore of the open end of the master cylinder to see if it is sleeved. i.e A short sleeved area of the recess that the seal presses in to.

Treadle-Vac all de-craped, cleaned and working great on bench test. I will get it put back in the car this week, system bled, and hopefully a Road Test.

Although their was plenty of meat on the brake shoes, the wheel cylinders were leaking and the shoes were soaked. Unfortunately their was no saving them as they were also cracked in several locations. Right side of the cylinder was working the left was frozen.

Took the cylinders apart an blasted, and cleaned, I had some spare rebuild kits in the garage and rebuilt. I am going to go ahead and remove the back dust shield and give that a blast and paint as it is pretty cruddy. I am robbing the brakes I have in the garage for my 56 and will use them to get this girl rolling and will get more later for to replace.

I came to a screeching halt on the rears, as I don't have a hub puller. The loaner tools at Autozone that everyone has been using doesn't fit the patrician. It works on the 11" clipper drums but does not mount to the 12" patricians. Off to Ebay to get a old school puller.

I know I will have a mess in the rears as the back brakes seem to freeze. I have to drive the car back and forth to free them up.

I Got the front lines flushed and the front brakes done. the old brakes were good enough I got the following information off of them. Wagner Lockheed shoes and they have a stamp of 43607 on them. Thus far, I haven't been able to cross them yet.

I will add to the cross reference but anyone needing new push rods for the wheel cylinders they are Dico wheel part # DIC-0978300. These are an exact match to what is on the car. I got mine at Wholesale Marine for $1.35

Pic 2182.jpg. The football shaped washer is missing at the top post under the springs. Also it appears the the primary and secondary linings are the same length. Not a problem. installed amny that way that were aftermarrket. But prefer short/long linings.
Note that the washer that is missing is supposed to be kind of foot ball shaped and not the round one that is in the "before" pic.

Double check the SM but i think the red spring at the very bottom is supposed to go over the top of the adjuster wheel. Not under it. Where did u get those shoes????

yeah, I forgot to put it on before taking the pic, had to take the springs off and put it on before buttoning the hub up.
