Let's look back at the Packard of a film star, who achieved her successes during the period of silent movies. Her name was Anna Held, who obviously needed a large car, one of those with enormous stowage space. The below mentioned image source talks about a 1919 Packard, which gives rise to questions against the backdrop of her biographical data (19 March 1872 - 12 August 1918).

My, I certainly learned a lot!
The next time I hear that tired old argument that only superior people with refined sensibilities bought Packards and that all of the neuvoux riche bought Cadillacs I will remember Miss Held.

Ross, thanks. Better to remember her curves than her Packard. I don't know if she owned the car or has just been chauffeured.

Did any stars have a 1955 Packard 400 or a Caribbean? I'd love to know... :)

Howard Hughes purchased a brand-new '55 Caribbean for his actress girlfriend (later, wife), Jean Peters. I first learned of this car in a 'retrospective' piece published in Motor Trend magazine from back in the early 1970s.

Is 1956 ok?
The car I'm talking about, was in the possession of ?dith Piaf (19 December 1915 - 10 October 1963). THE Piaf "...was a French cabaret singer who became widely regarded as France's national diva, as well as being one of France's greatest international stars..." ![]() Would you like to give it a quick listen? Non, je ne regrette rien, original version No, I regret nothing, English version I can even offer a prizewinning video clip (The Mischief Makers), where the Caribbean makes a guest appearance but just for 1 second. Be fast to catch the car! [source (quotation & images): wikipedia] Click to enlarge!
