Yes indeed, Owen Dyneto (Dave Czirr) is one of the linchpins of this site. He has also been awarded for his service to the PAC forum, but is too modest to mention it. His devotion to the marque and his attitude of helping others is well known to many Packard enthusiasts.
We are fortunate to have Dave, Brian, Howard, Kev and others who are willing to devote their time and talents and also capable of accurate detailed information.

Thanks for the video. There was a programme on the TV this week about the air crew who flew Churchill to Yalta via Egypt in his personal Liberator bomber "Commando". The pilot Bill Vanderkloot and co-pilot were American and the navigator and other aircrew were Canadian.

In 1966 I attended the Toronto Royal Winter Fair during my first year on the job as a Conservation Officer. I was making about $3600 per year and all the road kill moose meat I could eat. There was a new 600 limo at the Mercedes Benz display. The salesman informed me that the car was worth $30,000 if I wanted to buy it!

Guscha: The book by Mike Covello is a very good book to have in ones library. I bought that book on sale from Krouse Publciations almost two years ago.

Gushca: You posted a picture of a Mercedes Benz 600. Funny thing that when you posted that picture of the 600 I was reading a book on the history of MB.

The 600 was produced 1963 to 1981 with a total of 2677 being produced. 429 Pullmans were produced which I believe was the long wheelbase version. Also included in the total production number there wer 59 Landaulets produced.

Oops, I wasn't thinking of anything that deep, but just assumed it would have been like the American cars - operated by a electric-powered hydraulic pump, but with a lever control.

Now, I can see what the key was for - to relieve the hydraulic pressure in the jack.

The system seems rather primitive - rather ill-suited for modern-day drive-thru service at McDonalds.
