41 Interior metal door trim

I'm preparing to refinish the woodgrain of the window interior trim in a 41 160. Has anyone attempted to remove the 2 chrome strips. My concern is if the metal tabs will take bending them out to remove and folding them back over to reinstall without breaking. Any suggestions from someone that has attempted this ?

Bend them only enough to get them off. I have an old pair of metal smithing pliers that are gentle on stuff like that.
Buy some plastic trim tools rather than using a screwdriver to pry on the trim.

When reassembling don't attempt to bend the tabs back to original. Use double sided tape and epoxy or RTV on the tabs to hold the trim in place.

Hope this helps.
