Another 120 convertible sedan being passed off as a 160. Engine number appears to be from a 160, but the other indicators say it's a 120. Seller says it could be modified, but.... it definitely is.

West, if you look at the small thumbnail photos you'll see a little blue arrow at the right end - click on it for the additional photos including the patent plate.

The patent plate is in tough shape but I've seen a few others for Packard Montreal and the dealer stamp is consistent so I suspect the plate is authentic and I'm assuming it's original to the car.

Thanks, David
I did click it, but didn't click it enough. The delivery date is interesting???? June 1942. Am I reading that correctly?

I agree. The third digit looks like someone tried to change the "9" (120) to a "7" (160)

Yeah, the delivery date is indeed curious. Obviously the car had to have been built at Packard Detroit before the cessation of production (February ??, 1942) so I guess the assumption is that it just lingered on, unsold, until June? Governments normally had first dibs on such cars, its possible the first owner was the Canadian Government?
