Would like to see a shot of the whole car. From the looks of the bumper it hasn't been sitting there too many years.

Its a real decent car,I think he would sell the whole car,I wouldn't mind the 4 door with the white cut coupe roof sitting on it,would make a nice street rod[since the car is rough and its not feasible to restore it]......I do know of another place that has quite a few 50s packards,I will have to stop by and get some pics there too, packards were more common around here in the 50s

It looks like a 37 club sedan. I'm not sure if it's 37.

Hi cdncoupe

What an interesting deposit of Packards! It looks as if the owner ran a Packard repair shop long after new models were no longer available, though given their age at this date, more likely a collector saving survivors from the scrappers.

Here's hoping these are but the parts cars that were saved to support maintenance of nicely-preserved Packard stored in the long building in the background.

So, what is the situation? Does the owner sell parts and/or complete cars?

Or is it the usual situation: an owner of advanced age shortly to leave an estate loaded with old cars unwanted by his heirs, the best which sell to collector, the rest end up a scrap.

Steve

well...we have all seen different places and situations,I have hunted for classics since I was 16 ,when I was 18 some 35 years ago I remember him around,he had a sign business ,mostly painting store front windows, christmas scenes with old cars[the cars were packards in scenes],cartoon characters,he is an amazing artist,I remember him driving a nice black Packard a few times[I didn't ever see him drive the 40 coupe in pic with vintage plate],my business partner used to use him to paint windows for different seasons at 4 mc Donalds locations,I used to buy many California classic and drive them home in the early 90s,one trip I remember driving back east of Billings Montana and passing him towing a nice green Packard with his van with sign business name on it.I did also visit his old place less than a mile from where he has cars now back in the 80s-early 90s,he had 100s of cars and 32 fords 34 ford coupes, the rare stuff that is so hard to find,he had lots, and tons of rare Packards,I heard at a car show that he could find them easy by using his airplane, flying over farms and spotting any old car easily,I heard he sold lots of cars and parts, not sure what kind of car shop he had, then I saw the old place was gone years ago when driving by,then a few days ago I drove down a side road near his old location and there he is now,big building with a sign business in the front,I stopped by-saw 4 nice Packard doors right in the office entrance, ,he seems to be more modern with computer cut decal signs now,we chatted and he was not to eager to show me,then he saw that he could trust me and was great, spent 1.5 hours showing me cars,he said he didn't want to sell any packards, but near the end, said he would trade me cars/parts and sell me the nice 40 coupe

He did tell me he is 75 years old,I will visit him again and maybe get to see what he has in the building,he mentioned that it is full of the good stuff, and Packards was what he was talking about too.I did notice piles of nice parts that appear to be earlier 30s Packard, nice rust free body parts and doors etc. This part of Canada is dry and cars are quite good as far as rust to a point for cars sitting outside, many have great bodies and little to no rust in floors etc.I will mention this site and see if he is willing to actually sell items, also if he is interested,I will do pics of each car as best I can with data plates,or maybe he would be willing to do so.I did notice all the cars had the plates,I am sure none of the cars would have any kind of tittle, making it hard for a US buyer, but there are ways around that too.One good thing is that he liked that I took intrest in packards and near the end of my visit he was interested in helping me with what I needed for my coupe.
