The picture shows a Packard used during general Eisenhowers visit to Horten, Norway (at that time a naval base) in 1951.gjengangeren.no/tv/mimreflimmer-drosjene-5-60-50299.html Approx. 1.40.

Hey Rocky46, thanks for that - I don't believe I've ever seen that photo before. From the windshield trim it appears that the Clipper may have had bullet-resistant glass installed, very similar appearance to Tito's '48 which was so-modified. Second and 4th vehicles behind appear to be Chrysler products, perhaps a 37-38 Chrysler product immediately behind the Packard?

I wish I could make out the license plate, the Norwegian Government had a sizeable stable of 41 senior Packards in their service at that time and for some years to come, I wonder if the Clipper was a U.S. Army vehicle?

Dave, it is a video. After surviving 15 sec. commercial break you can wind forwards. It starts at 1:25.

Dave, Would not the US Army Packards be painted olive drab or similar? The car behind might be a 1937 Plymouth?

Learned to drive with a 37 Plymouth. Looks more like a 38 to me.
