Mal, thanks. Newspapers from this period had much more to offer than usual in modern times. Scroll through to find thunderbolts, punches, blizzards and many other action-packed illustrations. The ensemble provided the impression of an adventurous life.

I don't know if you ever have an occasion or are even inclined to do so, watch the reality TV show "American Pickers." The guys routinely scout out some pretty fabulous petroliana collections. Some of the one-of-a-kind items, including Packard, are astounding for their attention to detail, color, and design. It's enough to make a person weep when I see what passes for "quality" now days.
