Did Packard paint the entire rim the body color or, was the face the only surface with body color?
Thanks

Packard was perpetually penurious particularly with paint in the postwar production. Only the face is painted. Motor Wheel supplied them either in black or grey in later years.

That is great news...I can powdercoat the rims and leave the face alone...no more rust!!!

Thanks.

I did mean that the face was body color, just the balance of the wheel was whatever Motor Wheel supplied.

Make sure the interior (tire covering portion) of the rim is painted/powder coated as well, as that is where I've encountered rust and sealing problems.

Also, this helps to fix issues with a poorly sealing tire bead.
