Has anyone put MMO in stale gasoline? The label says it will retard the formation of varnish, gum and resins. It sounds as if it might be used successfully to salvage old gas if one forgot to put Sta-Bil in.

The Q&A on the MMO web page says it can be used for winter storage.

No, not much of believer in "snake oils".

But I've come to the conclusion that 2-cycle motor oil is a good gasoline stabilizer. I realized this after noting that my 2-cycle gasoline/oil mix for the chain saw has been sitting in the unit for at least 2 years and is still fully functional and apparently "fresh".

X2 Fred. I have a lifelong friend who is a petroleum engineer. He says none of the additives work. "Think about it", he said. "We make all the petroleum products, so the aftermarket sellers usually buy their base stock from us. If it would improve gas or oil, we could add it at the refinery for 1/100th the cost of the product on the shelf at your FLAPS."
