I must chime in, since I am a proud owner of a 1948 Packard Deluxe. In my area of the country Chevys, Fords, Mustangs, etc are a dime a dozen, but to see a Packard on display is something special. Comments like "is it running ? you can't hear it running ! and "that's the way a door should sound when closed" are normal. And people are in awe of the Straight Eight. There really is something "special" about a Packard, even the 48 to 50 models.
