From my own experience (in 1972), on a trip to CA the diaphragm broke on my double action pump in Santa Clara, Oregon, right, and gas went into my oil. I discovered this when I stopped for gas and checked the oil. Very full and very thin. I had a single action pump with me and with the help of the attendant and no help from me, he replaced it and I drove to Palo Alto.

Yes, I believe that all the single action pumps are functionally interchangeable.
The 6 cylinder pump is a Type AT so may have a different pumping capacity than the 8 cylinder ones but would still function for interchange. Both of the 8 cylinder pumps are Type AH and identical except for clock position of the inlet/outlet.

Thank you Brian, you are always a trusted research resource. Basis of question was request from a 40-110 owner for a spare pump. Only core I had was a 525/545 and Terrill asked if I was aware the 110 pump had a different looking arm...

FWIW here's a couple of excerpts from the 1962 AC Fuel Pump catalog.

Thank you. All good information. The point of the question was to confirm the use of the Packard 8cyl AH style pump as a replacement for the Packard 6 cylinder AT - which I seem to be assured is fine - subject to the benefit(?) of the larger diaphragm in the 525/AH pump.
