I see today it was announced that an alliance between Fiat and Chrysler. Fiat will be taking a 35% interest in Chrysler, with the possibility of obtaining a 55% share of Chrysler in the future.

I hope the Italian government does a better job with Fiat/Chrysler than they did with Alitalia. Damlier still owns 19% of Chrysler which Im sure they'd love to dunp.

Owen: The present leadership of Fiat must be doing something right. As I recall Fiat in 2004 was on the brink of going under in 2004.

Perhaps I'm wrong, I thought the Italian government owned a controlling interest in Fiat and has been propping them up for years.

Hi all,

I recently bought a Chrysler/Daimler 300crd.

It has a Mercedes diesel motor with bags of torque and power but I am told it is not sold in the States because it is too dirty!

Anyway, I can tell you if there had of been ANY input from FIAT into this car I would not have bought it!

The one car that Chrysler built during the 60's that always holds the most interest for me is the Chrysler Turbine cars built in 1964. The bodies I believe were built by Ghia.

A couple of years ago while at Hershey I actually had the great pleasure on seeing one them running on the public roads around Hershey. The only bad thing about seeing the car is that I couldn't get close enough to it to hear the turbine running.
