Hi all.

Curious about what all the dimensional differences are between the 2301 and 2302 1949 sedans? I believe (from the model info here) the super uses the longer 127"WB, but I cannot find the other metrics such as overall length, weights, and such. Anyone had that handy , standard vs. super? Thanks!

(I wonder if that is in the Neil book...)

The complete specs for the 23rd series cars are in Service Counselor Vol 23 #5.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/SC/SC-VOL23NO5.pdf

Here is the dimension section from that SC. 2301 is in the first column, 2302 the second and 2306 the third. As you see, except for the length, the other measurements are almost identical model to model. As you may know (excluding the LWB limo and 7 passenger models) prior to the 51 bodies Packard placed the extra length for the 127 wheelbase models before the cowl. They used the same bodies on all models but different front clips to accommodate the 120 and 127 WB.

Hi

Both Mr. Neal's books are worth having on your Packard book shelf. I refer to my copies all the time for details and specifics. Plus, they're just great reading whenever you have the time. Documentation of Packard's history is much richer for his sterling efforts.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
