It looks like a boat, I admit, but it is on wheels and once it was propelled by Packard and as such it is suitable to be published here.
"A replica of PT-109 is towed down Pennsylvania Avenue during President John F. Kennedy's inaugural parade in 1961. Kennedy was the last commander of the PT-109 patrol torpedo boat in the Pacific Theater during World World II. His actions to save his surviving crew after the Japanese bombed the boat made him a war hero and helped launch his political career." source: talkmedianews.com Click to enlarge!

Forgive me for calling this imperial emperor car -> again on stage. Meanwhile I learned that the brand name of this end 1920s car is "Park". image source: bbs.tiexue.net

If "the steering mechanism is located on the right", then the pic isn't mirror-inverted.

Hi Guscha
That's a great image of the event at the Lincoln Memorial, February 12, 1945. Vice President Harry Truman was still two months away from death of FDR which thrust him into the Presidency. There was still terrible fighting in both war theaters though much hope the war would soon come to a peaceful conclusion with the progress being made. Here is a closer look at his Packard that day. Its amazing how many Packards appear in images of the important events with the prominent people of the day. Steve

Hi Guscha
I'm sure they were in there pitching, too bad they didn't get Eisenhower to take his Inaugural Parade ride in a new "53 Caribbean rather than the '53 Cadillac Eldorado he did. Those events were great prestige boosters then. Steve
