I don't know about either part, BUT, the fastest way to identify the parts is dispose of them, it's then that you'll need them/it.

The top one is the blaster exhaust shield of an X-Wing Starfighter that's seen some action in the Empire.

How about this: Once upon a time, when Detroit was still part of the legendary Packardia empire they found an old fresco, which contained a potential answer to the original question. By help of scientific application of computer-generated imagery a natural imitation was modeled, showing the proper use of both parts. Quote: ...
