Selling this 1947 Packard Super Clipper Straight 8, 9 bearing engine, transmission, rear, and frame. Took the body off for project, no need for this, and hate to see it go to waste. Accepting offers for whole thing. Original owner the famous Jack Palance.
Thank you.

I would think if this car did belong to Jack Palance its value would be worth more to leave it together with the chassis?

Anyone else remember Palance and his Clipper in the advertisements for Prestone? It was Prestone, wasn't it? Horrible thought that his once fine Clipper has been dismembered and is no more.

O_D, this Packard was previously in the Jack Palance Prestone antifreeze Packard TV commercial thread in this post. Sadly it is being dismembered.

Thanks for posting that, Wes. I was wondering if I would remember it or not. (I don't) Chris.

While it is a shame it is being separated from the car, my hat is off to the OP trying to get it into the hands of someone who can use it. That drivetrain is a masterpiece and one of the main reasons I chose the model I have. I fear you didn't give it a fair shot and probably beyond going back now. When these motors are dialed in you can balance a nickel on the head when running and can easily keep up with modern traffic. I doubt you'll be able to get a nickel within a 1/4" of the Lincoln motor without it getting knocked out of your hand.

Does it run? Is it a 356?

Yes, it's a "356". Despite the title of this thread, I believe the car was a Custom Super Clipper, not a Super Clipper. The two shared the same "senior" chassis, however.
