Ok I know this has been asked ..

What is the correct top material for the top insert ?

I have looked at the Cobra .. but that look nothing like what on the top of my car ...

Can someone post a pic what what is stock ...

Im looking at using Haartz Cloth ( Dan tano ) Blk & Blk

If what's on your car now looks like canvas, then it's almost certainly not original. Closest match that I'm aware of is Colonial Grain Roof Topping, in black, available from Restoration Supply or Restoration Specialties. It is a near perfect match for the original material used on many senior cars thru 1936, uncertain about its use on juniors.

Have you checked to see if there is a specific recommendation in that excellent restoration guide for '35-'37 juniors? Trying w/o success to remember the authors name.

PS- "The Production Packard" by Darvin Kuehl. An essential reference for anyone restoring a 35-37 junior.

I owned an all-original 1937 120 C touring sedan from 1974 to 2003. I have every reason to believe that insert top was original to the car and it did not have any graining in it. It was a smooth rubberized canvas material, looking much like the picture although mine was in much better shape. I did put a coating of liquid neoprene on it when it started to develop cracks in spots as shown above.

He is going to send me some swatches of what he has .. Eric is 2nd generation owner and a gentleman to boot ..
