Being a formal sedan, it is on a shorter wheelbase than your 1608. Thus, the differences you pointed out. The Formal sedans had padded leather tops.

Same body as this remarkably well-preserved and original 1939 Twelve Formal Sedan, recently shipped off to new owners in Scandanavia. This particular one is in fact built on a leftover 1938 Twelve body, as were about half of the 1939 Twelves. Note the cane shift, extra cost option on the Twelve.

Yes, pretty amazing for an original car; thanks for posting, Dave. Could I risk a possibly stupid question? I'm not sure what the little compartment in plate #3 is? Just a vanity mirror or something else?? Looks to be up fairly high, if I'm identifying the strap beside it correctly as an interior grab-strap?? Chris.

Hi
Just an update on the V12 Packard. It has had a couple of owners in the UK since it was imported. The first guy bought it for parts as he had a 1938 Super 8, which was involved in an accident, hence the missing grille and surround, front wings and side mount covers! The second guy bought it thinking it was a 120??? Decided to remove the rear wings and cut them up to fit the 120! Not sure why you would do this to a V12? Now we go on to the positives. The body is solid, with no rust. Interior is original and apart from a hole on the front seat, it's in reasonable condition. QUESTIONS: Probably a bit early on in the restoration for this question, but what's the best cleaner to clean the interior? Who is the best person to contact for parts on this car? Thanks in advance for your help and hope you're all safe, well and isolated in your garages. Regards Colin
