ok ..

Someone was nice and found me the door handle i needed.
It has a lock core in it and i want to swap it out with my old one so i can lock the car ( like that will ever happen )

i have stuck a paper clip in the small hole and doesnt seem to do any thing ...BUT when i turn the key half way the paper clip drops further in but the core doesnt come out of the handle

They are rather difficult locks to pick, but you might try. But also remember that from 1935 thru 1956 Packard only used 250 different keys, P1251 thru P1500. So call all your local Packard buddies over and tell them to bring all their keys. Most of us who have been into Packards for a while often have many extra keys.
