Here are some from New York City
37 passing the ocean liner Normandie 36 Su8 in passing the New York Public Library 32 Deluxe victoria on 5th Avenue 34 Eight 37 120 Blowing smoke A Clipper Taxi killing insects with smoke in LA A well kept 32 Caddy down near the New York Central West Shore Elevated Rail Line (I had to put that one in) In fairness, the Desoto taxis could smoke too, but I think that motor was better than the Packard. The '41 Lincoln beside the smoky Clipper taxi appeared in other period photos, turns out to be a Lincoln Custom, the 138 inch wheelbase sedans and limousines which with their H-Series V-12 probably was smoking as badly as the Clipper.
DeSoto Skyview taxis were tough cars, but Mopar also had an active service engine replacement program, which given the easy swapping of their six cylinder engines allowed Taxi companies to replace any tired engine quickly and get that SkyView back in revenue service within hours. I don't recall if I posted this here already or if it was in a different blog so apologies if it's a duplicate.
The photo below was taken using a Polaroid Colorpack camera (I am a major Polaroid collector) but is not quite a period shot as can be seen by the cars in the background. It was probably taken in the mid-1960s when I was a teenager and is in my hometown of Vallejo, CA where I was visiting family at the time. Unfortunately, Polaroid photos do not scan very well! Here is a tax assessors photo from 1940 in Brooklyn. The Packard Six has all of its accessories. It's an interesting photo. Also a Packard 8 and a 39 V-12. New Yorkers were big buyers of Packard. After the war those cars ended up on used car lots for $25-50 dollars so it's no wonder that's where one of the major clubs got started.

More Packards in life back in the day.
First, a 1925-'26 Eight 243 touring used as Pike's Peak tourist bus in 1932. Second, a proud owner with his 1925-'26 Eight 243 sedan-limousine by Holbrook. Third, a rendering of a 1925-'26 Eight 243 town car by Holbrook. Fourth, a promotion photo of a 1935 120 at a Standard Oil station. Enjoy!
