I'm in the process of a 120 engine overhaul. I have 2 questions now and many more to follow, I'm sure. The first is that the valves, seats, stems and guides seem to me in remarkable good shape. After cleaning I get a good pop with my finger on the bottom of the guide as I pull the valve out without any oil on the stem. I will lap the valves. How critical should I be on this? The second question is that the timing gear, cam gear and timing chain also look great! There is a 1/2" slack in the timing chain. Is this a concern? Thanks Bruce
