Oleclipper55owner,
That is an excellent video. If viewing that kind of machine shop artistry doesn't make a Packard owner's mouth water, nothing will!! But I can sure see where Dave's rebuild numbers come from, after watching it!! $50K for that machining job and reinstall, doesn't seem much of a reach at all. Having said that, if a guy's going to do it, that's certainly a controlled environment where it sounds like the machinists have lots of experience with Packards. Were it one's own vehicle, it would certainly instill confidence that the job was done right. Chris.

agreed. Truly shocking for a car that has sat for over 50 yearss. There is no way that engine is gonna come back to life with a can of WD-40, a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil, and a few sprits of starting fluid, but hey, go ahead and try...

This car is #73 of approximately 124 of the larger 5 passenger sedan. produced and the 19th known to exist.
This car could have an interesting history since the data plate was not stamped by the selling dealer and selling date. Not too many cars have survived with blanks.

It's within my retired budget and the technology is such that I can work on it myself. However, SOMEWHERE down the road, I want, and will get an O/D installed and functioning on it. Chris.
