I thought I would start one of these. I have had the car since the summer of 2018. It is now drivable after completing the following:
All Power Steering hoses
All brake wheel cylinders and hoses
Rebuilt carb
Recored Radiator
Rewire front lighting
Fuel Pump
Spark Plugs
Air Filter
Points & Condenser
Radiator Hoses

I am working on the following:
GM 4L60e Transmission using Bendtsens Speed Gems adapter
I want overdrive
Building a MegaShift (MegaSquirt) Transmission Controller for the 4L60e
Will need to convert to 12v for the transmission and future Air Conditioning.
Disk Brake Rear Axle from a 99-04 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

That should keep me busy for now.

Progress working in a rear axle.
I wanted rear discs and a higher ratio of 3.73 is ok with the new overdrive trans anyway.
This axle out of a 99 to 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee uses the same 5 on 5 bolt pattern as Packard. However it was a coil spring rear axle so I had to grind off all the mounts. Removing paint and rebuilding it now. The pig is cast aluminium so I am thinking I will polish that. Here are some pics.

Merry Christmas
John

I have made some progress on the rear axle. It is fully disassembled now and I need to setup my electrolosis rust removal tank to clean up some of the parts before painting or diy zinc plating the parts to be reused. It's getting there. Had to drill out the rivets for the rusted out dust shields. Also starting on building my transmission controller. I got the code loaded and I can hook it up to my pc and "talk to it."

Regards
John

Just installed Newport Engineering 12 volt wipers. They are a bolt in replacement for the vacuum wipers. They are nice. Not for 6 volt cars. Also new wiper blads and arms. My car had 11 inch blades but 13 inch blades will fit with shorter arms.

Looks good John! Do you have examples to show of the zinc-plated parts? I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately on zinc plating and nickel plating. Interesting stuff for sure. I even considered the "copy chrome" plating kits you can get, but that looks way too involved.
