Hi Kevin,
I got all my weatherstripping from Steele. Years ago they also sent me some 1 inch samples of the different profiles they have which made picking the right one easier. The vertical channel is easy to do and makes a big difference, the other channels take a little skill to bend the channel or fuzzy to the right shape. It might be worth it to buy an extra fuzzy depending on how perfect you want it to look. (Nice to have a backup part if you bend the first one to a less-than-perfect profile.

I saved my pennies and had the radiator re-cored at a local radiator place that will soon be going out of business after some 70+ years.
https://www.guenther-kuehler.de/ They did a very nice job. Took it apart, media blasted the frame and the tanks and soldered in a new core. It looks neat and clean, and in matt black it should shed heat very well. I also installed a new lower radiator hose and wire hose clamps. Not very exciting, but it will be nice to know that the coolant system is A1, and I hope everything is leak free when pressure tested. (They pressure tested the radiator, but I will have to check my hose connections when the car gets up to temp) Attach file: 20210312_205608.jpg (269.81 KB) 20210312_205652.jpg (212.17 KB) 20210312_223431.jpg (219.19 KB)

Thanks for the positive Feedback. It looked really nice out of the car, with all the fins perfectly straight and clean. I was trying to get excited about it. After installing, it was not so exciting, it looks pretty much like before.....but when the spring comes and I can start driving again I will be happy.

It amazing the difference a cleaned-up engine bay can make.

I got out for a nice 1hr drive on sunday in 40 degree weather. With the New radiator and thermostat I noticed that the warm up time might be a little quicker -thanks to the properly sealing tstat. But I still have the phenomenon that the engine will cool back down when going down a hill with the heat on. I guess that is the normal operation, and I will not worry about it much. It would be nice if it stayed at 180 deg, but most of my driving is in warmer weather so not a big deal.

Weather is nice here, so I drove to work in the packard...It was cold in the morning, only about 2 deg C (36F or so). I was driving up a long gentle hill in the woods in high gear, but low RPM maybe 1000 1500 rpm or so. I went to downshift for a hairpin curve, and the engine cut out on me. Very unusual. There was a spot to pull over (luckily) and I got out, had a quick look under the hood. -Fuel filter was full, and coil was a little bit warm. Engine was only 1/4 warmed up. I had only driven about 2-3 miles.
After looking under the hood for a few seconds, I just started the car right back up. Seemed to be rough for 2 sec, then was fine......I will check my heat stove, but the only thing I can think of is carb icing?? The rest of the ride to work everything ran well. Very perplexing, any suggestions of what else to check? The choke and fast idle work and are adjusted. -maybe it was just warm enough to get off the choke, but not warm enough to run well without the coke? Thanks all!
