Thank you but the Make Changes link isn't there for the 1953 Clipper, presumably because I had said that I do not own the car. As I have several changes to make over time, is there a way that you can reassign it to me?

I have added "PackardDon" as the owner. But.....being just a typed-in entry I doubt it will link back to you on the Site. Might require BigKev performing some digital gymnastics to fix this. In the meantime for the "several changes to make over time", please PM or Email those to me and I'll make them on your behalf.

Thank you. I think that the Status has to be set for me as Current Owner although I'm not sure if that's something you can do. I really want to be able to make my own edits so BigKev, can you assist please? On others that I need to add, I'll be sure to keep "ownership" until I'm all done.

Yes, once a car is marked as sold, the record become locked from editing. Only then Mal and I can make changes. But we can change it back to you being the current owner, and then you'll be able to edit it again. This is a safety to maintain information, versus someone coming later and blanking out information for whatever reason.

I fully understand and thought of it only after I pressed the Save button, knowing full well that I needed to find and add a photo and locate the engine number. I asked years ago about adding these but at the time it was deemed unnecessary so glad to finally be able to plug in this little bit of history.

Officially took possession of two Clipper coupes yesterday. One is a '47 and the other is a '42.

Info from the '47 -

ID #: 2185-5324 (on what's left of the Packard plate)
Body #: 2185-5183
Engine #: F25026 (kinda funky)

The '42 has a badly deteriorated Packard plate and I haven't succeeded in finding the body number yet. The only number that I can make out on the Packard plate is a date in late 1941. I'll let you know when I find/detect more.

The '47 was sold by Alfred Taylor's Garage in West Plains, MO, dated June 13th, 1947.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

Wat,

While I could create an entry for your Packard, it's best you add your Packard to the Packard Vehicle Registry yourself. That way you can include all the information required. And later, as things change/alter you can open up the entries themselves to make the changes required.

Maybe this FAQ can help you to do so?

indreknuume,
to PackardInfo and for including your rarer model Packard '37 138-CD One Twenty Deluxe Touring Sedan in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

Also, see you're in Estonia. Don't think we have many(any?) members there.

I was operating under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that maintenance of such was your purview.

And perhaps I didn't read the instructions . . . .

Wat,

Maintenance is one aspect of my involvement with the Registry.

However, initial construction of an entry in the Registry is the responsibility of the owner of the Packard concerned.

Besides, if I generated every entry besides being a lot of work, although I'm not averse to that, it doesn't link back to the actual owner.

Go to it Wat.
