Here's the modern version, however I believe the Packard rear axle seal is too deep for this version to reach . . . it might work, but I've not used one in this application.

If your intent is to replace the seal, its OK for the old seal to pretty much be destroyed during removal. Some have extracted seals with sheet metal screws and vice-grips.

I just pulled one of my rear seals using a slide hammer with fingers as mentioned. I'll get a picture and post it up. Came out with a couple solid hits.

The outer seal was easily removed using a punch and hammer. I set the flange on a vise opened up wide enough to allow the seal to drop out, then tapped at 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock until it popped out.

I can tell you from experience that the Amazon puller will not work on the Packard axle. It did deform the seal so then I had to get it out. I wound up very carefully chiseling through the seal in 2 places and then easily pulling the halves out. It was a lot of extra unnecessary work as the seal wasn't leaking. I just thought I'd replace it when repacking the rear wheel bearings. Needless to say, I left the seal on the other side alone as it wasn't leaking either. The outer seals were no problem to replace.
