Yesterday was a weird morning. Got up and went to the Exxon service station in Potomac Village that my Gas Buddy app said had gas. Got there, but they ran out 10 minutes ago, attendant said. Went across the street to BP station. Two big lines, one for each island. 15 minutes later I was angling for My pump when some woman blew her horn. She had cut in behind me while I was backing into position, a very dangerous thing to do because my visibility is low. Been thinking about a rear camera, wireless bluetooth from Home Depot. Anyway, she was supposed to go straight and replace the guy in front of her, but he was taking too long for her, I guess. Disaster averted. The attendant came over and told her to back up and wait for that slow poke to finish.
I got my tank full and headed to the Fairfax VA City Hall for an Antique Car Show. Most of the gatherings around here are muscle cars and race cars. Very few classics, so this looked interesting. Chuck, who sends out the cruiser notices on Wednesday sent the address etc, so I went, a half-hour drive in beautiful sunny 70-degree weather, top down. There is a lot of highway construction on the beltway and especially around the Fairfax exit. At the offramp signal into Fairfax, a dump truck, speeding, ran the red light. Had I gone with the signal, the Duchess and I would have been gone, too. Fairfax has a lovely City hall. The problem was, no one was around. I emailed Chuck. While I was waiting for a response, I checked the special events section of the Fairfax website. Postponed until 2022, so it was a lonely show at the Fairfax City Hall this year. See attached. On the Beltway, with a stretch of gridlock going home, a huge boat-like 1972 white Cadillac convertible, top down, beautifully restored, pulled alongside. “This isn’t a convertible. THAT’S a convertible,” he yelled. It was almost a direct quote from Crocodile Dundee or “The Last Convertible” by Tony Myrer.

Miss Prudence and I took our normal Sunday Morning ride...and I noticed something along the way...Keep in mind it was about 5:30 am in the Desert. There were a good two dozen women walking with their dogs (large dogs) they were otherwise by themselves. I only saw one guy walking alone and his dog was no more then 15 or so pounds. Go figure! My Packards have been suffering from covid. No they are not tested positive or vaccinated for that matter; just haven't gotten time to take them out. So today it was time for the 35 coupe to come out of hibernation. Hasn't run in a year. I checked her fluids, battery and air and it looked good. Made sure I got gas in the carburetor when I hit the accelerator and guess what? She started right up 👍🏼. These car never cease to amaze me. Took her out in the country so she could stretch her legs at her own pace.

Been driving the Panama to and from work a day or two a week. Super relaxing and enjoyable. I'm trying to get as much driving in as I can before it gets too cold here and the car gets put away.
