The caulk will probably work as well or better than the original grommets and is considerably cheaper but should you want the original look someday Steele does repros of the heater core grommets.

I've never seen this Packard part discussed here.
The right, rear window track is not aligned properly. One of these pics are looking down inside the body just behind the door latch . I have a scope that allowed me to get a decent image. Image #1 show the bolt I am trying to remove. You will see why I am trying to remove it in Image #2 Image 2 is inside the door on the back side of that bolt. The nut is rusted tight and when I was dissembling the car, way back whenever, I evidently twisted the metal. Right next to the nut is the twisted bracket. It should be flat and about 2 or 3 inches long. I can not get a wrench on it due to the twisted metal. I see no other option to to cut the whole thing off and try to repair it.

I think I would be inclined to hold the head of the screw with a ‘Vice-Grip’ (or the backside if you have the room), and drill the head with ever increasing drill sizes, stopping at the tap drill size for the screw. At some point the screw head will be removable through shearing of the thin cylinder.

The Speed-O cable has one little defect in it but its just enough to allow moisture and dirt to get in to it.
You can see it right above the "a" in the image. I'll take a look at the universal cables as Howard suggested a few weeks ago. The heat is supposed to drop some this weekend so I will try drilling out that bolt in the door frame.

I don't know if universal housings are available or if they are I doubt they would look anything close to stock. I have only seen the inner flexible core cable and a variety of ends to fit different speedos in the universal cable kits.
If the damaged area is hidden you could probably put a clamp on metal or even plastic sleeve long enough to go several rings over the damaged area to keep it from getting worse. Fold a piece of thin sheet stock and with enough extra length to make flat edges to place a couple of screws or maybe some kind of crimp. A couple of layers of heat shrink or heat shrink tape might even work if it is not in an area that could be pulled or stressed farther. If that is not feasible I suspect that finding another housing will need to be Mike Dulinski or maybe Gerry at Packardssouthwest.

A length of rubber tubing - split to go over the cable housing then thoroughly sealed - may work too.

Still jumping around from one part of the car to another.
Waiting on parts for the speedo cable. I got that rear window rail out. I drilled out the bolt as suggested. Thanks for that tip. I twisted the hell out end of that rail. Not positive but I may have tried an impact wrench on it at some point in time. Here is a tip...don't do that. I should be able to straighten it out or replace it. The bolt at the other end was rusted pretty good so it broke off with little effort. The last image is the dash board emblem. I am polishing it up. Can someone post an image of one that looks correct. I am wondering how dark the red paint is on the lower part so I can repaint it. I forgot to mention that crazy nut on the bolt I drilled out. Its got a grove in in so its built into the bracket that I twisted.
I see now that there is no way I can get a standard nut on that thing and be able to tighten it down. So this nut is locked in place. I may be able to fix the bracket but not sure about bolting it back in place without that nut.
