600CFM Edlebrock carbs work great. New or used and rebuilt they preform much better than the orignals. Linkage is an easy make.

Uh, one would want 500CFM E-carbs, not because of the CFM (1200 vs 1000), but because the 500CFM carbs have the smallest throttle bores, which will match up with the Rochester 4GC throttle bore size.

A simple problem to solve with a Dremel or an air tool with a grinding wheel. I believe that's what happened to the one I gave you, as it sure wasn't stock.

Empire Motors (ex-MFT) in El Paso used to advertise new cast iron dual intake manifolds for Packard V8. Don't know what the cost might be be, and also they are a vendor that's had more than their share of large black clouds sweep across their name, but couldn't hurt to inquire I suppose if your needs are that urgent.

Update: empire, now empire inc still offers the intake. but it is more than i can afford for now. I called and left a message for my contact at the college today and am waiting to hear back from him. Come to find out the person i was leaving messages with was NOT his assitant! So my messages were not being left for him! GREAT!

Just make sure if you order from Empire that they have it in stock and ready to ship (COD preferred), otherwise they can take up to 36 months (3 years) to cast and ship per the fine-print on their order contract! I think there is where is a lot of folks have gotten pissed at them as they don't read the contact conditions, and Empire doesn't make a point of disclosing that upfront.
