I was attempting to remove the oil pan on my 1951 300, when
for some reason the hood slammed shut and I Heard a clang.
The clang was the left wing of my cormorant hood ornament.
The wing is whole and there is about 1/8" to 1/4" of the stem that fits into the body. Has anyone had any success fixing one of these? Any and all suggestions would be welcome. (I know, I should have lowered the hood before doing any other work on the car)

Does the stem have a rough edge and look broken off or just pulled out of the slot?

I have used epoxy to "fix" one for a 1948. So far it looks to be working fine. I scuffed up the chrome on the wing stump so the epoxy would stick better.
