i am currently doing a 38 twelve convertable and am in need of a supplier for the 4 thrust washers that go under each spider gear as well as a pair for the side gears, i belive these were called differential thrust washers and pinion thrust washers, am also in need of the threaded screw do'er thet has a t-slot in it for setting pre-load on the shaft in the stearing box.

G'day Todd,
to PackardInfo. Could you please include your '38 V12 Convertible in the Owner Registry together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it.

I have a machine shop and 44 years of experience if you need something made.

As to thrust washers, if you have samples, know thickness required and material (bronze? hardened and ground steel?) they can be made.

At your service.

Private Message me if interested.

i am building the car for a customer so i will leave it up to him to register as it is not my place to do so but as far as i know he purchased the car from massachusetts approximately 15 years ago and their car was last on the roar in the early sixtys.this pic is pretty close to how it showed up at my shop but the whole car was in yellow primer but was in need of stripping as there was some bad body work lurking underneath

well i have located a spare 38 v12 rear axle complete drum to drum so i am heading over to the mainland next week to go get it, hopefully the thrust washers are in good shape. if not i was getting pretty close in that the side gear thrust washers can be made by any compitent machine shop and the pinion thrust washers that go under the spider gears are almost spot on to ford nine inch pinion thrust washers.
