I was hoping someone would hop out to the garage and take a quick picture of the front and rear ends of the drip rails on a 55 or 56. It would not make difference what model, senior or junior.
I think that the front end of mine needs some reshaping.
Thanks

Don't think these will help because the rail is covered by the stainless but this is a 56 Caribbean HT.

I got the drip rail welded into place yesterday morning. It almost looks like I know what I am doing.
Thanks for the pictures of both ends. It was a two-minute job with a small grinder to correct it.
The left-side drip rail should be here in a day or two and I get to do it all again.
I still have to seal the seams when done.
I am thinking about painting them with chrome paint and then adding a few layers of clear coat on top of the paint like the rest of the car. It is that or paint it to match the rest of the roof.

I emailed them yesterday and I’ve dug out the one they used for the mold, hopefully it will help them and you!

So, Quiteride called me today.

The "mold" for the 55 & 56 Packard plenums was actually destroyed in some sort of accident in the recent past.

A few of you may remember that this is the mold that Henry Greene assisted with a few years back. They created that mod from his plenum. He went over it in detail in his project blog back then.

They have the drawings but they said it's going to take 6 months to get a new mold and there was some question about a couple of measurements. I am working with them to get the answers they need, hopefully.

I was hoping to get the dash back in place in the next couple months. Can I install the firewall pad and dash/wire harness and then install the plenum down the road.

Thank's Henry
I saw your email.

I have been trying to get a hold of them for a couple of weeks myself with no response yet.

Not surprised…. Took me at least a year to get mine done and constant hounding.

The second drip rail arrived yesterday. Classics2Current sent me the wrong part again. Now I have 2 tri-five, right-side drip rails.
I called them today to get this fix and they asked me to send some pictures of the parts and the labels on them.

Now I wait and see what happens.

Classics 2 Current wanted me to send that stupid drip rail back to them. I can't believe they paid shipping to have me return a $5 strip of sheet metal. I am still waiting for the correct part from them.
I gathered all the wiper parts and cleaning them up. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to lock the spring back. Once the holes aligned the whole process clicked and I understand it now. I'll play with it tomorrow.

I am also digging out some of the stainless steel trim pieces to start cleaning and polishing some more of those. All this time I thought that was these foil pieces were tarnished from the gold-plated "The Four Hundred" script but it is painted that way. I guess it makes the gold script stand out better. I have a friend that has one of those Cricut, vinyl printer machines. I am going to see if he can make me a stencil for it.

The valleys are supposed to be black on the whole length of each trim piece. The paint just happened to survive under the words and a few other places near the edges.

Some folks have redone those pieces with black striping tape. I had pretty good luck with a quality paint pen.
