Little off my repro antenna top.

Chrome shop finally found mine.

Think some masts are 4.40. And some 4.48. Thread.

Looks like 1/4 hex.
Not 3/16th

Riki - I'm just catching up your posts now. I'm looking at the gilding kit you got for the emblems. I didn't even think about that when I redid my emblems. Mine turned out okay, but I couldn't figure out how they did the original shiny gold. Gilding is likely the answer. Now you're making me want to redo mine. Please post how it looks when you do yours.

About the antenna, you said it was a reproduction. Is it a universal antenna or is it special made for our cars? I need to find a replacement antenna mast and am not sure where to turn.

Thanks keg.

The top of antenna chrome shop couldn't find when mast was done.

The thin top nut I made. Thought it was small.

But when I g it my top nut back
.i see i was off.

Gerry might have a mast. I'm sure Tucson. Packard does. I believe they were re building then.

Might call mike. See what he has.

The chrome shop only plated the

Ends of mast. Except for part that sticks out on fender.

Bought the st 100 from a marine supply place.

20 bucks cheaper than napa

With these either need to make a ring that press on end or contact cement boot.

Might look for something.

Armature. Commutator is plugged

Don't feel like trying to clean up slots.

So going to use new armature.

This isn't working.

The commutator needs to be cut back. The shoulder. Hitting brushes.

So at standstill.

Might be a bad production.

Deciding if I can cut enough off

Other option take armature to have commutator cut.

Other option. Try to press it

To under cut the mica on the commutator take piece of hack saw blade grind the set of both side of blade to get width same as mica in the commutator. Under cut the mica by pulling blade outward to allow brushes to touch only commutator. After mica is cut small bevel on each side of each bar . Finish with sand paper not emery
