Hello,

Looking for a rear driver door strap and unable to locate any online.

Also I found one place for the medallions, but wanted to see if there were any more options or if someone has some new ones lying around.

I have attached a pic of the door strap I am looking for.

Here is the only place I found new medallions -hirschauto.com/1933-39-PACKARD-12-HUBCAP-MEDALLION/productinfo/HUBMED-01H/

Thanks

G'day Jmac54,
to PackardInfo.

Would the check straps(see image below) that Steele Rubber offers for Packards fit? My mate used the Steele check straps in his '34 Eight while another guy used them in his '30 Packard. Maybe they are "one size fits all"?

And, I invite you include your '34 Twelve in PackardInfo's Packard Vehicle Registry.

Ouch, that is a steep price. Just did my nephew's Model A Ford and they use these on the rear doors. This is the link for the 7" one used on the trucks and deliver doors, and less than $6 each.

mikes-afordable.com/product/A162592-7.html

There is also a 6" one used on the cars on the same site.
Worth a look I would think, you may have to rework the ends but they are very strong straps. I have also seen a set in a car at a show that the owner cut out of used truck flaps, could not tell.

Thanks Bob,

They might be compatible. I did see a truck with a similar setup that might work.

It seams anything designated as for a Twelve, you multiple the standard price by 12.

As I used to tell people when they complained - The car cost twice the price of a new home when new.

Then I got tired of hearing about it so stopped working on that stuff. In engineering there is big money at stake and working there I didn't have to put up with rich people and their non-sense. The way to make restorations livable is to work with customers who want to enjoy spending money. Some of them got it by chiseling everybody in sight and they carry that with them and beat up on the help. Imagine going into Tiffany at Columbus Circle and complaining about the price of their merchandise. Or complaining about the rent at 851 Fifth Avenue. I knew one guy who got sued over the price of restoring a set of Duesenberg wheels. He shut down and moved on.

I'm sure you can make the Model A ones function with some modification, but along the way someone will spot it the same way as having the wrong voltage regulator or starter. It's up to the owner.
