Hello,

we are working with a 34 Packard 1107 Convertible Sedan. Noticed the driver and passenger headlight lens are different in design. They both say C.M. HALL LAMP COMPANY which looks to be who made them and they also say Solar Head Lamp. Just wondering if one is a repro or which one is original.

Also I have seen ones that say Depress Beam which appear according to what I found to be related to the 32 or earlier models. Again just looking for a little history and help on what we have. I have attached some pics so you can see the difference between the two.

Also attached a pic of the driving lights to make sure if they are original as well.

The headlight lenses are correct. The system uses a right hand dipping switch so the lenses are different.

The driving lights were a dealer installed accessory and any brand could have been sold, but those are drilled through the cross bar which I don't like.

On the top of the lens one is embossed "left" and one "right".
Looks like the driving lights were added to give turn signals from the orange light above. That amber color wasn't standard until well after post war, but not sure/don't remember the year. {eg; My '58 Cad came with white turn signals lamps, but you can get amber bulbs to fit now.}
Maybe a local regulation for registration / licensing needs?
Elegant and beautiful pair of lamps, you don't get those these days. Probably not the brightest bulbs in the pack however.

Those road lights apparently are late model and begs the question - has that thing been converted to 12 volts?

Non-authentic lights always can be thrown in the garbage but drilling holes in that cross bar is indicative an amateur work.

To my knowledge it has not been converted to 12 volts.

Mentioning the mounting technique being amateur work, is there a preferred or correct method of mounting them ?
