I am selling this for my mother. It belonged to my deceased step father. 1955 Packard 400. Runs good. Electric is original and has occasional gremlins. So far, only the electric torsion bar system has given me fits. Transmission had a broken case but has been replaced. Starts up and runs fine but the accelerator pump in the carb is shot, so anything above idle is not smooth (when in gear). Glass is good, front suspension has been gone through, brakes are fresh, transmission has been gone through (the shop did a poor job with the pawl, feels like it might fall into gear at anytime. Interior is fresh. Needs paint. No appreciable rust. Never saw anything like it and I have been restoring junk since the 80s. It was found sitting in a farm field outside Lubbock, Texas. Usually there are a few design flaws in vehicles that will trap blowing sand and then proceed to rust out. Not this baby! Oh, and the wonderful ignition switch die cast garbage nightmare has already been wrestled by me last week! Over $16,500 invested. Bottom line is $10,000, not a penny less. Don't even ask, unless you want me to hang up on you. I will admit, I am not much of a salesman, you either want it or you don't. Anything less than ten grand and I would rather light it on fire and roll it over a cliff. Price has been dropped over $5000, and it has to stop somewhere. Many extra parts included. More photos to come. I have a decent knowledge of the car, so ask all the questions you want, and thanks to everyone on here that has posted. This info is an invaluable resource for the man fortunate enough to own a Packard.

There is hail damage on the trim on one side. I will be posting more photos tonight and I can photograph anything requested.

Car is located in Tucumcari, NM .
