Hi everyone, we have a front seat in the shop and we are having a hard time moving the seat back and forth. We have the seat clamped to the work bench and when we pull up on the lever the seat does not budge. Here are a few photos of the seat. The 2 gears are in the groves. Is there anything we are missing?

Embedded dirt, debris and rust in the tracks and brearings is an issue that often prevents movement and on some style releases sometimes the pot metal locking piece can get bent so it does not completely clear the holes. When bolted in the car there is a large spring between the bottom frame and floor that assists in pulling the seat forward. It relies on leg power to push it back.

Big Kev's 37 project blog has some photos of disassembly and cleaning he did on his tracks a few weeks ago.

Take the seat tracks apart. There are 15 needle rollers at each pin. Yours are rusted, stuck, and /or missing. Clean, grease and reassemble. Polish the roller pins.

Thanks for the info, yeah I ended up taking it all apart and cleaning it up. I didn't realize that the tracks were full of old grease, dirt and whatnot. From the outside it looked fine but after taking it all apart I see why the seat is not moving

I am having an issue with my 1937 115C front seat not locking. It slides back and forth when being driven. Can someone help with this serious problem?

It sounds like either the spring is broken or missing from the adjuster mechanism. Or the end of the lever that engages the notch in the track has been sheared off. You have to look at the driver's side seat track to see what is going on.

Thanks for responding, BigKev.
Should the side lever control pull up to lock the seat in place or release the seat for movement?
Mine is not working either way. Attached is a picture of the mechanism.
