Hi
Re.1934 series 11th model body 715
chassis 1102
Hoping for some help as Ian's car is possibly the earlist I've worked on. The charging was sort of working ok, but the horns were not. The horn relay wiring and the dynamo regulator wiring had been mixed together. I sorted out the horn problem
( relay mounted upside down in the chassis rail and had filled with water!), but that left only one wire for the reg box which has two terminals? B+ and Gen. any info would be great. I'll try and add a pic. or two.
Cheers Phil

acehull, to PackardInfo.

I realise this '34 1102 Eight Sedan Limo is not your Packard but, could you prevail upon the owner, Phil, to consider including it in PackardInfo's Packard Vehicle Registry?

Thanks for the reply, so just to be clear it's fine with one wire connected? I guess that the knob on the side of the reg. Box is for adjusting the charge rate?
Thanks again for your help
Cheers Phil

The brass knob on the side is the cover for the fuse. There is no adjustment of charge rate on the generator cutout and control unit, you have a 3rd brush type generator and charge rate is adjusted on the generator itself by the position of the 3rd brush, screw to adjust on the back plate of the generator.

Is the single round terminal with two wires to the left and down of the cutout connected or is it just loose for the photo?
