Here is me (left) and Jerry Ashley (right) at the Hawks Bay Vintage Car Club morning tea, before the Art Deco Car Parade.
After the parade we used several of the cars to help raise money for the Art Deco trust. So we gave tourists rides around the downtown areas in our cars. I think I did somewhere between 15-20 trips for folks while driving the Auburn.

Today's run was exhausting for driver and passengers alike. Howling wind was pushing the Packard and Auburn around and the last 45 mins it was spitting rain. We discovered neither car had operational windshield wipers. But we made it!
We drove through some stunning areas of natural beauty

The Hawks Bay Vintage Car Club hosted a send off breakfast for those traveling to the rally from Napier. The HB-VCC has their own "club-house" and property.
They even have their own literature library and parts room for their members. Here is a photo of The Flackmaster and Jerry amazed by just a single asle in the parts room. Here is a view of some of the cars waiting to leave for the rally.

Are there any Packards in New Zealand? I'd say a few:

We were at the Dudson Family Collection in Wairarapa today looking at their vehicles when I noticed they had the following Packard scripted leather book. The had no Packards in their collection.
This is a leather holder containing map book page cards for the UK. The other side has a clear window to display the current map card you want to look at while driving. This prevented them from getting soiled or having to deal with a large, imposible to fold map. It was given away and marked imprinted by Leonard Williams & Co, which was the London Packard distributor. Based on the address of the Map maker, it is circa 1933 to 1940. I asked for a photo copy of the pages for the website and they were gracious enough to give me the entire book to keep. So once I get back, I'll get this scanned and added to the archive here.

Now that’s an interesting item! Like an early iPad with Google Maps opened on it.
