Floor pan repairs are today's project.









Then I'm going to clean it up and paint it with Por-15.

That’s the best DTM paint out there! 👌didn’t know that they made it in clear though!

I had to do very similar work to mine, both passenger and driver. You might consider doing a seam sealer after you patch the metal. It will cover and protect everything, as well as fill any tiny holes that you missed. I didn't do it everywhere, just the areas I patched and areas where the metal seemed thin.

I don't know if POR-15 sticks to it or not. I sprayed my interior with epoxy primer since I had sandblasted it down to bare metal. Worked fantastic for me. But the sandblasting was probably a mistake....I just now finished getting the last of the sand out of the interior when I took the dash out. Three years later.

I sandblasted the areas I was working on, and I know what you mean about the sand. Tried to be careful, but it gets everywhere.




I think when I'm done my repairs I'll paint everything with the Por-15 and then do the seam sealer. I'm going to scrape off the original seam sealer to make sure there's no rust hiding underneath.

Time to treat and paint the floor pan! 🥳

That looks great! Seam sealer is awesome.... It covers a multitude of sins. That plus the POR-15 will do a great job protecting your floor. This car will probably never see the elements like it used to, so you for should last forever.

I'm very impressed with Por-15, covers very well and it seems like it is going to be tough as nails. There are a few components, like my drive shaft and battery tray, that I should have done with Por-15 rather than a rattle can of rust paint. Oh well, next time!!

Body mounts tomorrow! I'm very curious to see if new body mounts change any door, or body alignment.
