I use little #4 flathead screws. I drill clean through the fuzzy and the door at a suitable spot and run the screw down well below the surface of the fuzz into the backing. They are no more visible than the staples.

On the relatively short pieces on sedans I have glued them in with good success. Get some spring type clothespins and place them upside down to push the strips firmly to the door while the adhesive sets.

I damaged the copper bushing in the PS pump when removing the inner seal.
I have the new seal but now need to replace that bushing.

Would like to try and purchase it separately and not buy the whole rebuild kit again.

What's the ID, OD, length?

Any chance you could measure it accurately enough to see if it is a stock size that McMaster or MSC might carry. On McMasters site about 3/4 down the page of various bronze items that will open is an assortment of styles on various oil and non oil sleeve shaft bearings and bushings. If you see something that looks promising clicking to bring up that assortment and then again on the part number will bring up a box where you can select a product detail page to see the precise measurements. I didn't check to see if they had bushings in any other metals.

I just happened to be watching the end of the Red Sox game and getting the measurements on this bushing when I saw the recent post.

ID = 7.50
OD = 8.75
length = 7.50

The bushing has a #25 stamped on it.

Have not checked McMaster & Carr website yet but I will later.

I don't want to screw this up.
It is cheap but it's a delay if I order wrong.

Do you think the bushing in the image below is correct using my measurements above?

As far as od

Press fit is a thou over.

So. You need a hole gage..

Also called snap gages

To see bore size.

Figure od. Was squished when pressed in.

As Riki said, OD is slightly larger and don't remember how tight originals were so it might be a press fit. You might think about something to guide the bushing straight and support the bore so bushing does not get damaged when installing. Perhaps Harbor Freight or Amazon has an inexpensive bushing driver set or maybe an individual single size driver is available or could be fabricated. A short length of 3/4 rod or shaft material plus a very tight setscrew type shaft collar positioned the proper depth on the rod might work.

Chances are excellent that bushing will work.
