I am installing a new rebuilt fuel pump. I am having trouble getting it in. Is it advisable to bump the engine and move the lobe a little around ?. I think I am hitting the lobe at can’t seem to get it to insert all the way.
Thanks. Happy Father’s Day.

Turning the engine should relieve most spring pressure on the pump's actuating arm. You may still have some pressure, but it should be manageable. Be sure you have the correct pump and be sure to use proper gaskets, insulating sleeves, and fiber washers.
