I got the car delivered yesterday. Still have to come up with a brake drum for front and rear (one side only)
I've got some spare parts that I'm hoping I can sell to offset the cost of the restoration. I've got a hood in near perfect condition except for the paint, also have a spare grill that looks like it will clean up very nicely. I need to order a battery. It looks like that can be sourced from most auto parts stores. I'll just have to measure the battery tray and check the fit.

can anybody identify this carburetor?
Need to find a re-build kit. Also have a spare that looks identical but it too would need a rebuild.

There should be a brass triangular tab under one of the body screws that has the Carter Carb number on it.

I do not see a tab. It is a Carter carb.

If you look up your Packard model number in the Model Information guide in the site’s left menu, it will tell you the carburetor that it should have and yours looks original to me. So if 22nd series, it’s a Carter WDO 531S but if 23rd series it’s a Carter WGD 767.

The vehicle number 2252-9-9528 indicates a 1949 22nd Series.
Late 22nd Series cars like this on also had a one piece front bumper as opposed to the earlier cars with the multi piece bumper.
