Started working on adding the optional sway bar to front. This was ab option that could be added to a 37, but was not standard production.

So this swaybar came from Gerry and is off a later model.

I stripped and painted everything

Per the service letter, it involves removing the jack pads from the front of the trailing arms and installing the sway link brackets in there place.

The end link bushings were past there prime, so I found some modern replacements at Napa to replace them with

The swaybar bushings themselves were shot a d being from a later model the bracket holes didn't match the existing hole spacing in the frame. Napa didn't have anything that would work, so I ordered new brackets and bushings from Energy Suspension. So once those arrive, I will complete the install.

This will help enable the high speed turns my wife is seaking.

Also the 115-C running board mats from Metro that I ordered in March finally arrived. So once I can inspect them, then I can sell off the new 120-C mats from Metro that were in the rubber hoard I had.

Here is the info from TL-1980 on the front stabilizer (sway bar):

This shows the 1937 style bar. The one I have is off a later 120, perhaps a 1939. The endlink style is different and it may be a thicker bar.

The bar on this one is 9/16" diameter.

The new 115-C running board mats look really good.

And appear to fit very good as well. They left a little extra at the rear so they could be trimmed to fit exactly. Which is the covered by the piece that goes up against the rear fender.

Just for reference, here is the difference between a 115-c and 120-c running board mat. The 120-c is longer and also wider at the front.

Because of the body work I plan on doing this winter, I wait until that is nearly complete before installing these as I don't want to get these soiled or scuffed up.

I'll be listing the 120-c mats for sell.

I removed that sway bar from my '40; both connections from the sway bar into that vertical metal sleeve were blown out and the bar was just hanging there looking forlorn. Sitting in a box in the garage right now.

Luckily that connection is still good. If it goes bad, I'd have try to use some liquid urethane stuff that you can use to make your own bushings and pour that into that socket to replace it.
