Here is the some of the interesting paperwork mentioned in 5112.

The very detailed bill of sale, complete with misspellings.

A sleeve that the dealer was to fold up and slide over the driver's sunvisor: fold it one way and it explained your new Ultramatic. Fold it the other way 'round and it explained how to use your new overdrive. I have never never never seen one of these in 52 years of screwing around with Packards. Would someone care to reproduce this?

I can, but it would be much easier if you can scan it at your local library at 600 DPI full color. Save to a flash drive then pull it up on your PC at home.

This will yield a sharper reproduction and no lens or angle distortion. I can remove the yellowing, adhesive marks, etc.

Or: Hershey is just 2 months out. I can scan it then if you'd like.

Also, why the suggestion to not start in Park in cold weather or on a hill?

No idea on why they made that suggestion.

The only thing I can think of is that starting a cold transmission, the fluid will be stickier, so the HRC would put a bit of load on the pawl making it harder to shift out of park. But

- it really shouldn't be a big deal either way
- it won't relieve load on the starter
- as the engine warms up, so will the HRC and any real effect from cold weather should be negated

1952 Patrician. Very solid original car out of a collection that was sold off by the owner last year. Had been in storage since mid-1970's. Attractive two- tone paint scheme (looks like Gallant Green over Aspen Green). Chrome looks nice. Car currently runs and drives but may need other minor work to be roadworthy. Very presentable driver quality car at a bargain price ($6,900). I think this car is a real deal at the asking price.

1951 Patrician. Beautiful, restored car with nice paint, chrome and interior. Other than the incorrect 1952 hood ornament, I don't see anything wrong with this one. Elderly owner now selling for health reasons (sounds familiar). Asking $14,900. New York:

1939 120 Sedan. Fully restored and running. Paint scheme does not look correct (fenders painted different color from body) but new interior appears well done in correct pattern. Has banjo wheel and radio. Asking $26,500. New York.

1939 Six Sedan. Part of a collection being sold off which includes a 1946 Dodge panel truck and a 1935 Plymouth Sedan. The Packard appears to be a driver quality car at best with weak paint and chrome. The two other vehicles look about the same condition wise. 1955 400. Rough unrestored. Major project or parts; has significant rust in front fenders, rockers and rear quarter panels. Looks complete. Has been in indoor storage for many years. Think it could be well worth the asking price of $1,500. Indiana:

1957 Clipper Country Sedan (station wagon). Not running, looks rough from apparent long term outdoor storage. Rusty, but looks complete. Ad states supercharger is missing. May be restorable, if not, an excellent parts car with a lot of useable trim and glass parts. Only 869 units built of this model in 1957:

1955 Clipper Super Panama hardtop. Good driver quality car in attractive White Jade over Fire Opal (Scheme MJ). Paint somewhat deteriorated but looks presentable as does the interior. Good deal at $6,900. Michigan.

That '55 400 has the Orchid cloth interior with glass black leather. I've only seen it on two other cars and they were both black and white paint. Interesting.

The '53 Clipper club sedan looks like it would clean up nicely, if the interior isn't too shot. Attractive Ivory over Polaris Blue, with the same interior colors as my Panama. Not a bad price for something that should take minimal work to get it into presentable condition.
