I am considering ordering one of those remote brake fluid reservoirs sold by highway101ind.com.
I know some of you have them on your cars. Has anyone had any problems?

I know there are two different models.
One complete unit for a Lincoln that fits our Packard, and one that is just the canister and hose that leaves you to modify your original reservoir cap. be.

These things are always on backorder so there is no telling what the wait time will be.
I considered making my own, I have a canister but I know it will end up costing me more just screwing around with all the parts that I will get wrong.

Mine has been working just fine since I installed it. It's a delight to check the fluid level at that higher level vs having to lean way over the fender down by the framerail.

If that company can't get them back in stock, I am sure you could make your own.

Here is a place that sell 4oz screw top cans dirt cheap that are rated for harse solvents:

berlinpackaging.com/4-oz-steel-flat-top-cans-1905t07

Those would need a small vent hole drilled in the lid. Pretty much the rest is just common barbed fittings, hose and some clamps. Perhaps a couple of o-rings.

It wouldn't be that hard to jig up something to make a bracket.

The existing/stock master cylinder cap can be drilled to accept the barb fitting and plug the vent hole. As your essentially relocating the vent to the top of remote reservoir.

Some epdm rubber sheet could be used to make atmospheric seal vent to go under the reservoir lid.

I'd also use black hose that is brake fluid compatible over that red hose.

It could be a neat little kit for someone to put together and offer to Packard folks.

I ordered the remote brake fluid reservoir from Highway 101. It's back ordered so we shall see how long it takes to receive it.

Still no sign of my front bumper. It's been 4 weeks since my purchase. I know they are good for it but the delay is frustrating.

Also, the carpet is holding up everything in the interior. It's going on 4 months for that.

There are a few more smaller things on the way.

If I had my parts and an extra set of hands from time to time I could have her car on the road by the end of this month. It would not be 100% complete but it would be drivable.

I have a few questions tonight.

1. Front door windows. Are the junior and senior door windows the same size? I replaced my passenger side door glass last winter but it isn’t not fitting right. You can see in the first photo that it's all the way up but when I close the door it's not even close to being all the way up.

2. I was going to install the trunk lock this weekend but now I cannot locate the wire clip that holds the lock in place. I had it a month ago. I need a source for that stupid little clip.

3. I need a pair of windshield wiper blades. Is there a source?

4. I need a front, left-side parking light lens. I got a right side some years ago and believe it's a repop. I would like to locate the other side. If anyone knows a source.

5. The power antenna. I’ve not touched my antenna in a long time. I know that the plastic cable is broken. What are my options? Can we fit a modern antenna? I do not know if the antenna will even be needed when I get the radio reworked but would like to have one that goes up and down nonetheless.

Window glass is the same size for all 55-6 hardtops, only option was regular or tinted glass. Are the upper stops removed or adjusted correctly so window can go all the way and is the regulator portion in the middle adjusted properly. As I recall there is some play either in a screw that affects the length available for arm travel or maybe it was the tilt of a portion of the regulator. The distance and how much motion the arm has in the secondary part of the regulator section also affects travel. Does the arm in the motor section go stop to stop or is there a chance the new motor is preventing full travel. There are some adjustment instructions in the body section of SM.

You will need some kind of antenna or there will be mostly static with maybe a tiny bit of signal. If you don't get the one Dad's 56 is offering you might try Tucson Packards to see if they have anything. They were repairing antennas and selling them on ebay for a while and might have pieces but no idea if they would sell parts separately if they are in the repair business.

Nothing aftermarket will look the same as the stock mast but by using mounting pieces that comes with a universal power antenna along with the grommet and black stock base piece to accommodate the large hole and steep fender contour you can jerry rig a passable and operational antenna. You do need to watch the neck size of the aftermarket to make sure it will fit thru the stock base piece.

If the cable is broken.

They use weed whip line to replace the other. Look for same size.

Door glass.

Check to see how glass is set.

Mine lean back. Plus the top has a curve.

When they put glass in channel. They put it in crooked.
Gerry (pws). notice that.

Also.

You will have to play with the vertical channel.

Mainly rear.

My glass is to wide. And I don't have any adjustments.

I even gave them an original glass to go off of.
