Hi,

The 1107 Convertible Sedans had Dietrich body serial tags on the floor which indicate that it was built at Dietrich Inc. The 1107 convertible coupes, for example, were built at Packard which is why they don't have Dietrich serial tags. Dietrich Inc. was dissolved in 1935. As documented in Beverly Kimes book on Packard. Starting in 1934, all Packards Phaetons and other open bodies were constructed at Dietrich until the last ones were built in 1936. Apparently, as Packard ramped up for the production of the 120, the extremely low count of the open cars was a challenge so the outsourced production to Dietrich (who designed the bodies) and were also best suited for low production volume

"built at Dietrich" seems kind of funny to me for cars built after about 1930 or so, as I've always assumed that Dietrich wasn't even a company past then. Packard built all the bodies, and then just put the Dietrich tag on vehicles with his design.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
