This is how I have done it many times:

Back flushing 1937 Super-Eights
1. Remove the upper radiator hose
2. Using a hose clamp and piece of leather or rubber seal off the inlet to the top tank.
3. Fashion a dual valve to the upper radiator hose with one port adapted to air pressure fitting and the other port adapted to a garden hose.
4. Take an old bed sheet and clamp it to a section of radiator hose (preferably ‘L’ shape)that can be press fit into the top of the radiator.
5. Rotate 180 degrees the fitting on the head.
6. Connect the radiator hose with dual valves to the fitting on the head.
7. Using a garden hose fill the radiator until the water runs out the top and close the valve.
8. Connect air compressor hose to the air valve and when compressor has 100 pounds, open the air valve.
9. Consider doing steps 7 and 8 a couple times.
10. Open up the bed sheet and see what has come out.
11. P.S. you might want to have an umbrella handy.

I am going to give this a shot. Way better than the way I did it.

Be sure the pressure can escape readily. The radiator won't stand high pressure.
